I don't know how everybody around these parts feel about Taylor Swift (I classified the dress she wore -- that looked like Lumiere and that she had yanked the drapes off of a rich person's window -- as "bad" and most comments seemed to disagree) but I found this video completely underwhelming. Her voice, dress, and even Swift herself are beautiful, albeit boring: in a post-apocalyptic world in which the Hunger Games are occurring, wouldn't you expect it to be a little more exciting? Also, does it feel a little bit like Swift is playing Cosette, the role she lost out on in "Les Miserables," in this video just to prove that she can? Or is she just completely emo these days?
Feel free to weigh in below!
Safe and Sound Lyrics
I remember tears streaming down your face When I said, I'll never let you
go When all those shadows almost killed your light I remember you said, Don't leave me here alone
But all that's dead and gone and passed tonight
Just close your eyes The sun is going down
You'll be alright No one can hurt you now
Come morning light You and I'll be safe and sound
Don't you dare look out your window darling on fire The war outside our door keeps raging on
Hold onto this lullaby Even when the music's gone
Just close your eyes The sun is going down
You'll be alright No one can hurt you now
Come morning light You and I'll be safe and sound
Just close your eyes You'll be alright
Taylor's second song, "Eyes Open", from the freshly released Hunger Games soundtrack is now available on Amazon! Be sure to check it out HERE!

What's The Hunger Games?
In The Hunger Games universe, the nation of Panem has risen out of the war- and disaster-ravaged ruins of what was once known as North America. Over 70 years before the events of the film, the thirteen poverty-stricken districts of Panem rebelled against the wealthy, controlling Capitol. After its crushing victory, the Capitol devised the Hunger Games as an annual reminder to the twelve remaining districts of its authority, and as continuing punishment for the rebellion. Every year, each District must hold a raffle (known as the "reaping") to choose one boy and one girl (ranging from age 12–18) to participate in the Hunger Games, a competition in which each of the 24 contestants (known as the "tributes") battle to the death in a televised arena until only one is left alive.
In District 12, sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) cares for her mother (Paula Malcomson) and her sister Primrose "Prim" (Willow Shields), since her father died in a mine accident. Katniss often hunts illegally outside the boundary fences of District 12 with her friend Gale (Liam Hemsworth). She uses traps, snares, and a bow-and-arrow to capture her prey for food and trade with other residents.
Prim, now age 12, has her name placed in the reaping for the first time and despite the odds, it is drawn. Katniss volunteers as tribute to replace her sister in the Hunger Games. She competes against other tributes, including a baker's son named Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson), the male tribute from District 12. During a televised interview before the Games, Peeta states that he has secretly loved Katniss since childhood. Katniss has a recurring memory of him giving her a half-burnt loaf of bread from the back of the bakery.
Before the Hunger Games begin, she is given a stylist named Cinna (Lenny Kravitz) and a Capitol escort named Effie Trinket (Elizabeth Banks) to help her make a good impression with potential sponsors. Haymitch Abernathy (Woody Harrelson), a drunk and the only living victor from District 12, mentors Katniss and Peeta before and during the Hunger Games. Once in the arena, Katniss must rely on her hunting skills, stealth, speed, and wits to survive. She also has to fight her anger for the Capitol, choose her alliances wisely, and 'put on a good show' in order to receive food and aid from sponsors. ( read more >> )

Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Ashley Judd and Hayden Panettiere are among the stars championing an internet campaign to bring the leader of a terrorist group in Uganda to justice.
A documentary called Kony 2012, about the ongoing conflict in the African country, has become a viral hit on the web this week (beg05Mar12) after being viewed nearly four million times in just two days.
The film by humanitarian group Invisible Children is named after Joseph Kony, the leader of the Lord's Resistance Army (Lra), which has allegedly recruited thousands of child soldiers to fight in battles.
The organisation aims to make him famous,"not to celebrate him, but to raise support for his arrest and set a precedent for international justice", and a number of high-profile stars have backed the issue on Twitter.com.
Swift has been urging her followers to watch the film, along with Chris Brown, Martina MCBride, Kristen Bell, Ashley Judd, Hayden Panettiere, Christina Milian, Eliza Dushku and MC Hammer, among others.
In a post on the social networking website, Rihanna writes, "Please go to Invisiblechildren.com. Even if it's 10 minutes... Trust me, you Need to know about this!" while La Toya Jackson tells fans, "Please!... We must spread the news and Stop Kony by making Kony2012 famous. Let's put an end to this!"
Actress Chloe Moretz was delighted to see how far the campaign has spread, adding, "So exciting how much improvement we've made for Kony 2012. This morning hardly anyone knew tonight? Everyones (sic) knows."
